微孔滤膜广泛应用于样品分析和实验室样品过滤中。混合纤维素酯膜（水系滤膜）由硝酸纤维素酯和醋酸纤维素酯制成，是一种多孔性的精密过滤材料，滤膜表面孔径分布均。相比较于硝酸纤维膜，其一致性和表面的光滑程度都要更好。此类膜经典应用于溶液中悬浮微粒的粒子计数和分析。尼龙膜（有机系滤膜）材质强韧，适用于HPLC中的大部分溶液（如酒精）过滤，尤其对气体净化和微粒重量分析有独到之处。 Membrane is widely used in analytical and laboratory filtration.
